Transparency Statement for Ervik & Sævik AS and Christina E AS
Ervik & Sævik AS and Christina E AS operate the purse seiner Christina E and are based in Fosnavåg. Ervik & Sævik AS is responsible for managing the vessel’s operations and also provides management services for several other companies within the group.
Ervik & Sævik AS and Christina E AS are committed to complying with the requirements of the Transparency Act, which came into effect on July 1, 2022. We work systematically to ensure transparency in our operations and to identify and address risks related to violations of fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in our value chain.
Risk Assessment
Our business activities are inherently associated with limited risk for negative impacts on fundamental human rights and working conditions. The vessel is certified in accordance with both ILO 188 and MLC standards, ensuring a safe working environment and good conditions for the crew on board.
We conduct annual assessments of our major suppliers, which primarily include suppliers of fuel, fishing gear, and shipyard services. These suppliers are predominantly Norwegian, with many being local businesses with whom we have longstanding relationships and extensive knowledge.
Supplier Dialogue
We have received confirmations from our key suppliers that they have implemented routines and procedures to prevent negative impacts on fundamental human rights within their own operations and supply chains. Our suppliers have also committed to:
- Taking measures to stop, prevent, or mitigate any negative impacts identified.
- Notifying Ervik & Sævik AS if any issues arise within their own operations or supply chains that are in conflict with the Transparency Act.
Collection of Self-Declarations
To ensure sufficient insight into supplier practices, we have collected self-declarations from selected suppliers where we assess the risk as potentially higher. This applies particularly to suppliers based in countries with an elevated risk of human rights violations or those relying on outsourced labor from other countries. None of the self-declarations we have received have raised concerns, and no additional measures have been necessary.
Contact and Requests
